10. What is the backstage experience like, and how does it prepare students for the fashion industry?
Our program includes one full, intense day backstage during a professional runway production. This day is challenging, with long hours and limited breaks, giving students a real-world look at the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of fashion production. What sets our program apart is the unique access we offer to high school students, something rarely available in the fashion industry. Thanks to our Fashion for Futures initiative, which has been in place since 2016, we are able to provide this exclusive backstage opportunity for students aged 15 to 18.
Through this initiative, we've found that students who complete this experience gain a significant advantage when applying to universities, particularly for programs related to fashion or business. The hands-on, practical experience gives them an edge in their college applications and helps them stand out in the competitive admissions process.
During the backstage day, our trained team ensures that students are well-supported—providing meals, scheduled breaks, and guidance—while maintaining a professional atmosphere. Phones and social media use are not allowed during this time, mimicking the rules of real backstage environments where focus is crucial. Though demanding, students leave with a deep sense of achievement, having worked on a real runway show that prepares them for the rigors of the fashion industry
